TO Doris Wong, a wristwatch is but a wristwatch until it is prettied up. Then it takes a life of its own, issues its own statement and more or less, gives an inkling of what the wearer is about.

Expectedly, this 28-year-old bachelorette would show off an intricately beaded timepiece when we met at her office in Plaza Damas. Sporting a design which she has called “Rose Garden”, it was embellished with 432 Swarovski crystals that glinted bewitchingly in the fluorescent light. This design, according to Wong, was her take on what feminine sophistication was about.
